Posh v Coventry

Post by tonyp » 24 Oct 2019, 00:24

Another tough game (aren't they all?).
We do need to win it though, to stay top of the league.

Every game is a must win for us supporters
:stupid: Until we are top of the table with an unbeatable points total.  :comeon:
Well we did win and we are now top of the table.
But games are still must win to stay on top.

From the Official site match preview
https://www.theposh.com/news/2019/octob ... 26-oct-19/
“There’s nobody in the division who’s unbeatable and I think it’s a game we should look forward to definitely,”Coventry manager Mark Robins said this week.
"We know that we have had a good start to the week with six points, but we want to finish it off with a victory, then it would be a great week,” Darren Ferguson said.
I'm with Fergie.
And Coventry might be taking a good following-
"Coventry have sold 1,300 tickets and have been allocated the Motorpoint Stand for his fixture."

According to the Coventry Official site
https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2019/octobe ... n-the-day/
"Around 1500 tickets have been sold for Saturday's away game against Peterborough United - and Sky Blues fans will be able to buy on the day."
"Despite being a formidable attacking force, Peterborough’s defence is not amongst the best in the division and goals can be scored against them. City will have to be on top of their game to nullify the threat of Peterborough’s attacking talent and leave Cambridgeshire with a positive result"

Work till 4pm today, so I'll only catch the last half hour on radio. Win for Posh, but it's going to be hard won.

That's half an hour more than I'll catch.
I agree it will be hard won. But a win will be a win.

What a result in the end, I know we're not top any more but that last minute equaliser was totally unexpected.

When we score first, we don't lose; when we concede first, we don't win.

Assuming that to be true, the refreshing thing is that when we score first we might win and when we concede first we don't necessarily lose.
Of course if we neither score nor concede first then we'll get a draw unless the game is abandoned.
