FA Cup Round 3

Post by tonyp » 02 Dec 2019, 08:47

The FA Cup third-round draw will be live on BBC Two today Monday, 2 December, from 19:00-19:30 GMT.

Posh are in the hat with ball number 58.
Holders Manchester City are ball number 24
I don't think we want them yet.
If ball number 64 comes out at home to 58 Bristle could be having a short trip to watch the game.

That article is more than half dead. It is available only to UK viewers.

As for this forum being half dead just wait until the draw has been made. There will be lots of moaning about who it is and who it should have been.

Especially if it's Burnley.

Burnley are a difficult team for Premiership sides to break down, never mind us. We'll give em a game but no chance of an upset :(

We should forget the FA Cup and concentrate on getting promoted to the Championship.

Over 4,000 Posh fans flocked to London Road to watch Posh play Dover.
How many will make the trip to Burnley?

If my cold decides to leave me I shall make the effort. Could be our first Premiership scalp in the FA Cup. Our first top flight victory in the FA Cup since Jan '65, and our first in any competition since Liverpool.

The last time we played Burnley was on 2nd February 2013 in the Championship. We drew 2-2 at London Road.
George Boyd was playing. With a bit of luck he'll be playing this time.
As everybody knows, George made 115 appearances for Burnley between 2014-2017 scoring 12 goals.

I just hope that the weather is a lot better than when we drew (I think) 1-1 at their ground and had to endure a snowstorm on the way back. Can't remember when it was but it took us at least 4 and a half hours to get back to Peterborough in the coach and a further three quarters of an hour to drive back to Oundle. At one point we got stopped on a very snowy part of one of the motorways, due to lorries unable to get up an incline, and had a snowball fight with the media crew, Joe Dent, Phil Adlam etc. How that match got played I'll never know!

Either your eyes are failing you or your memory, according to that page Paul Taylor scored, according to uptheposh Gayle didn’t play. Having checked again Dwight didn’t join us until November of that year.

I had to double check that Burnley were actually in the Premiership. If we can muster a draw , we could turn them over here.
