For those who haven't heard the acoustic version, here it is. Wonderful. I still prefer the full band version, or the Clapton or Prince versions. Whatever, they are all superb.

This just shows the song writing genius of George Harrison. Something, Here comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Taxman, Blue Jay Way, With You without You, and If I Needed Someone are all Harrison compositions, along with lesser well known songs. I have always been a huge fan of the 'quiet one.'

Agree with that.

For the same reason, I prefer the version of Something from the Anthology series, just George on vocals and guitar

Is the music of goffin and king or carole king alone ,well known to everyone
I was struck recently by how many singers and groups have recorded their songs and what a variety of songs there were

Does anybody have favourites

I would include crying in the rain , wasnt born to follow, oh no not my baby and natural woman but there are so many more
Any thoughts

Penny lane and strawberry was a genuine two sider

One of my favourites was old brown shoe

But baby you're a rich man was pretty fine
As was walrus

I'm surprised I've never seen an album of flip sides

Perhaps its because I've always been a Lennon fan, but for me I am the walrus is the better song

I wouldn't disagree. It's a strong a B side as has ever been released

Hello Goodbye was quickly written by Paul McCartney when he was being interviewed at home and asked how songs come to him. He sat at a harmonium and knocked it out in a few minutes before finessing it in the studio.
