The driving a car with wife & child to test your eye sight was bad enough. But he also had to go a tourist attraction.

Then the kid needed a wee but had managed a four hour journey before with no break.

Then he can’t recall if he needed petrol.

And before he set off for Durham, he went back to work after popping home to check on his wife’s vivid symptoms.

If anybody was taken in by these lies, then I give up

The entire statement and subsequent answers reminded me of the Prince Andrew interview. Both men, imo, seem deluded to think that the British public are thick and are obligated to believe those in positions of power.

As I posted a while ago, it's a prerequisite for anyone involved in politics to be a consummate liar. We sadly have to expect it. We are no different from any other third world country in that respect.

I have seen enough of their reporters on twitter to know the type of people they employ, awful.

I feel that anyone who judges anything by Twitter, when they could more easily read a reasoned article, is shallow and narrow in his/her thinking.

There will always be a range of writers in any newspaper. The Telegraph used to employ Johnson for example. The editor at the time, clearly a Tory and someone I have often admired , Max Hastings, described him as "totally unfit to be a Prime Minister".

He was clearly a sound judge

For once I agree with you. His position is unsustainable but he seems to have a hold on Johnson who is too weak to get rid of him.

Very true.

This whole sorry saga is showing Johnson up more than Cummings now.

Either a) Johnson simply cannot operate without him or b) Cummings holds something so important over Johnson that fear of exposure would finish him anyway.

In other words, Dominic Cummings is running this country.

And the first minister resigns over the pathetic Cummings & Johnson debacle.

Tony, tell me how you know Dominic Cummings isn't running the country? How do you know this? Please share with me so we can quash this rumour.

I can’t claim this as my own, but how bloody true “ It's a pity Dominic Cummings' dad hadn't bought himself a house in Calais. Dom could've come back home over the English Channel and the media would've been completely silent.”
