So by asking that question you're agreeing that the current people have handled it appalling and haven't given an example of what they done well.

If you are as clever as he is then you are not down on your uppers, it seems to me that the majority of people who are complaining the loudest about this government are those with the most to lose, strangely those who have lost relatives, or who are on the poverty line receiving handouts from well-meaning charities, complain the least.

Barry's been in touch and there's some positive progress with Nicola.

He says her agent reports she's happy to take on the role of UK Coronavirus Tsar ( I think it should be 'Tsarina' Barry), however the SNP insist that she waits until the January transfer window opens.
This is conditional upon Barry finding her a deputy. Her agent says she requires someone who speaks Scottish and is a 'yes-person'.
Barry doesn't think this will stop the deal going ahead as there can't be that many around.

I'll let you know when he gives me his next progress report.

I bet we don't get a sell on fee. She'll have as much enthusiasm as Tyrone Barnett

Barry has found an acceptable Scottish yes-man for Nicola. She's happy to be UK Coronavirus Tsar on condition that a similarly qualified Scottish person takes over from the person who's gonna be her deputy.

Just had a text off Barry and I'm afraid it's bad news.
Nicola was happy to be UK Coronavirus Tsar. She was also happy with Barry's offer of a Scottish Yes-Man. She was likewise happy with his replacement of a Scottish chap who claimed he could do a better job.
According to Barry, this replacement chap wanted an assistant who comes from Nottingham. Nicola hates people from Nottingham, so the deal's off.
So we're stuck with Boris dealing with the pandemic. I thanked Barry for his efforts nevertheless.

I have seen on Twitter a thread started by a radio shock jock, claiming that if we lock down, half a million people will die, he claims his figures come from a Bristol University statistical expert, he suggests that only a tenth of that number will be lost by implementing the lockdown. What he is overlooking is the number of people who are being treated in hospital for Covid. Where will they go to be treated when the hospitals are full, how quickly will half a million die, in January alone perhaps. It's all hypothetical.
I'll make a prediction not half a million people will die from Covid in January in the UK, (maybe not in the World) close to another 10,000 will die from C19 before the end of February with or without a lockdown, but if I catch it I'll hope I can get seen in a hospital with some spare beds, unlikely if those who want to end lockdown get their way.

I've decided it must be great being a socialist, being so completely right all the time. I'm pleased to say I've just come away from the Coronavirus thread on dotnet. The amount people could learn from that website is wonderful. I'm surprised that they don't all emigrate to somewhere like New Zealand where they'd be happier that staying in the UK. It's much the same on their Brexit thread. We'd be so much better off under Captain Hindsight, according to them, I'm surprised not enough went out to vote for them.
