November lockdown is surely inevitable. But better to do it now and give the retail sector a fighting chance of saving Christmas

Should have been two weeks ago when they were told to.

But Johnson & Cummings knew better.

Nope. SAGE did. It’s what they’re there for.

Defend this government as much as you like. It’s human nature rather than admit you was wrong.

I'm not defending anyone. Labour would do just as good a job of ******* it up and the tories would be using Coronavirus for political point scoring were they the opposition.

Its what politicians do.

Labour called a lockdown TWO weeks ago. That simply isn’t the same. They are TWO different approaches altogether. Surely you understand that?

Yes, because they’re not in power, had they have had any decent policies they may have won the election. Had that improbable situation have occurred, Corbyn would have been in power and probably wouldn’t have gone into lockdown as Early as this band of sycophants are claiming to have wanted it. In Wales where they had a labour administration they didn’t lock down the entire country when the English labour were calling for it.

As bristleposh says, wether Labour would have or not is conjecture. I do agree with it though - a lockdown two weeks ago would have been more effective, just as you and I agreed in March we should have been locked down in February.

Another milestone passed ; 50,000 reported deaths. That vaccine can't come quickly enough.

I've passed the coronavirus as have my wife and two children... but with pretty good fortune. For me and the elder son it was just like a cold for two days, I couldn't believe it when they said I was positive (I was annoyed I wasn't allowed to work!). My wife Rosa was a bit groggy for four or five days, slight temperature but soon recovered. Worst hit was surprisingly the younger son, who is the most sportsman in all of us /up and down mountains with his bike); he had dizziness, high tension, headaches and 39.5 C temperature two or three days, and a visit once to the hospital urgencies. Even so in a week he was over it. The following week we all sensed a strong 'tiredness' all the time, but touch wood I believe we're all at 100% now :D

Good to hear, I have a cold all the time so I imagine it will be difficult for me to tell if I have symptoms. I am forever full of phlegm, blow my nose quite often in the mornings, and on a night the same phlegm seems to take the opposite route much to the annoyance of my wife.

Donald Trump fans & Brexiteers also seem more likely to believe this.
