it is alarming that one of the few countries in the world that thought it was free of the virus , suddenly gets two new infected women

both from the UK!

and we are quarantining people from other countries???

just as well I am not making a political point when my daughter moved there some five years ago and I thought that it would be a safe area for her

People travel, it's the World we live in, short of banning all inter country travel I don't see how you can stop the thing. Someone early in the pandemic travelled to the Canaries and started a panic there, the same in Northern Italy. Trump stopped all traffic from Europe yet the virus still got to the US. Second wave from a different wet market in China ain't gonna help, but surely now Johnson has the same information as the Labour Party (hindsight) they should be able to contain that.

Getting quite worrying again now with the threat of a Spanish Flu ressurgence.

Can they hurry up & find a vaccine please. I'm fed up with it & it's putting all our plans on hold

Funny how the Canary Island are included in the ban whilst it is 2500 kms from Catalonia, the Costa del Sol is over 1000, yet nothing is mentioned of Occitanie in a France which is adjacent, has not been touched, whilst Luxembourg and Belgium are far worse haven't been banned yet either.

I also note that Panorama are doing another Labour party political broadcast on their behalf tonight. I wish just occasionally they might do one on behalf of the party that funds them

Highest excess of deaths across the whole of Europe now.

We really are showing the EU we don’t need them anymore

According to the ABC Brisbane News
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-01/ ... n/12514234
World Health Organization reveals daily infection record, Boris Johnson warns Brits of second wave
The World Health Organization has reported a record increase in global coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, eclipsing the previous daily record by more than 8,000 infections.

Meanwhile the UK Government has reversed its plan to ease lockdowns and Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned of a potential second wave of infections as he announced changes to restrictions.

Womderful how stupid people mainly of the left are blaming the government for changing the plans at short notice, is it not feasible that they didn't know about the change in circumstances until they actually happened, Or are they expected to have hindsight like the Labour leadership before the events actually happen .

Now the Government has changed the definition of what a coronavirus death actually is,,,,death within 28 days of infection. This has taken 5k off the figures and bu****ed up my spreadsheet, updating of which was the highlight of my locked down day. They also seem incapable of operating a daily website with the results of new cases and deaths without hiccups eg yesterday there were no case updates. Is this just done to confuse the public?

The government are giving out the contracts for everything to their mates/donors without tender. If that's not bad enough, most don't even have experience in these required fields!

Needless to say the results so far have been disastrous. It's corruption & theft of the taxpayer, but I guess the Tories are still the best choice!
