There is so much good music out there it amazes me why some people stick with Sinatra, Presley etc etc

If you can listen to Mr Bojangles by Sammy Davis Jr and not feel moved, you ain't got no soul.

Toy Dolls playlist. I've Got Asthma, James Bond lives Down My Street, and The Devil Went To Scunthorpe.

Plus of course Nellie the Elephant
I used to play discos at University and would ALWAYS play Nellie the Elephant

It always got a few people looking down their noses at it to start

but it always ended as the most popular record on the night

long live Mandy Miller!!
It's hugely impressive that a dj played the Toy Dolls. In those days the only really fashionable bands for students were The Style Council and the Undertones, unless you were in the New Romantic crowd.

As for how popular Nellie the Elephant was, watch the Toy Dolls on TOTP circa 1984

I know that if I ever listen to any of those bands I get the distinct impression that the next time I enjoy one will be a first. U2 are probably the best of a very poor bunch, are they still looking for that thing couldn’t find. Got so desperate they had to give away one of their albums, probably realising it wouldn’t sell.

Currently listening to The World/Inferno Friendship Society's new album 'All Borders Are Porous To Cats'.

Different but very listenable.

I always play music in the car from my player on shuffle. Today’s gems included such diverse stuff as Smog, As It Is, The Darkness, Eisley, Alkaline Trio and Gaslight Anthem

I don't listen to music in the car.
I concentrate on listening to my Sat Nav lady.

Stupidity by Dr Feelgood today.

What an incredibly tight band they were. Lee Brilleaux was a superb front man.
