Tough one but I'd have to say Usain Bolt ahead of most of these listed already.

Where are Phil Taylor and Ronnie O'Sullivan. There skill at their chosen occupation outstrips many of the ones listed

Maybe I should have listed 10 or more instead of only 5 of the greatest. It wasn't a list of the five greatest just 5 of the greatest. Bristle and his mate whiteG can name only 3 between them.

For me, the word "athletes" means stars of track and field. I suggest (in no order)
Jesse Owens
Ed Moses
Usain Bolt
Carl Lewis
Bob Beaman

Hard luck for the other athletes then.
Definition of athlete -

Tony, I think you mistakenly think you have some sort of authority on here. Why don't you pipe down a bit and starting like a normal forum member.

Good on you bristle. What's the betting that whiteG (who must be feeling honoured to be referred to as your mate) won't be able to come up with any.

Usain Bolt
Leo Messi
Christiano Ronaldo
Floyd Mayweather
Roger Federer

All truly above the rest in competitive sports where it's very hard try to get to the top. Sports like rowing & snooker aren't true global sports but these guys are world stars who have raised the bar!

He has to google everything, it took him about three months to come up with an answer to Tony in another thread, they probably have slow dial up in Scotland.

Or it could be that I have a busy life outside of this forum. Maybe you should widen your horizons, it might make you a bit more worldly and less bitter on here. So many feeble attempts to bring people down but nothing intelligent or interesting. Sign of somebody who is unhappy!
