Posh well on top now, JCH makes it 2-1 from the penalty spot after both he and Dembele had hit the woodwork

Poor in the 1st half but what a transformation! Cracking formation/system change after the break. Dare I say it....well done Fergie in doing what you're paid to do.

Great result against a decent Swindon team, now is the time to build on it and push on. JCH showing what he can do, but Smozdics and Eisa need to be following suit

JCH unlucky not to have a hat trick in my view.

Dreadful first half, only Pym looked like a footballer,.......totally the opposite second half and a good 3 points.

One of the managers must have been pretty good with his half time talk.
Lucky for us it was Fergie.

I don’t see it like that. Swindon are a decent team, we can’t expect to steam roller everyone we play and we must expect games where the opposition play well and dominate us for parts of the game. There were some good chances in the first half, was JCH offside? Sammie and Siriki has good opportunities.
Second half we were mostly dominant and deserved the win.
Well played Fergie, good management gained us the 3 points.

I tend to agree with that. Swindon passed the ball superbly, played with determination and pace and we just couldn't get into the game. This sort of thing happens in nearly all games. Teams, for no discernable reason, just can't get going and have to admit to their poor showing.
However it is rare that two such contrasting halves are on display and we were lucky not to have conceded a few more goals in the first half. Great comeback, again from a goal down, a habit that should be encouraged! (not the conceding a goal before we get into the game but showing determination to get back if it happens!)

We lulled them into a false sense of security then hit them with three bullets when they weren't expecting it.

Like what I did.

That’s right Ashman. There are 2 teams in every game and you have to give Swindon credit for the way they played in the first half, it was a bit like us last week against Sunderland. They had 3 excellent chances and a good penalty shout, we can’t just put that down to bad play by us, there are other good teams in this league and we can’t expect to just turn up and win every game because we’ve spent millions.

According to the BBC report. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/54305676
Peterborough won their seventh straight home league match for the first time since 1984 with a win against Swindon Town.
Anybody know who the manager was in charge of those previous seven games?
Now that the uptheposh data base has disappeared I can't look it up.

I enjoyed the result, not to sure JCH was offside when he hit the back of the net, Dembele, Pym and JCH could all claim man of the match performances. Ward with a much improved performance deserves to keep his place. Never expected to say it but it think Broom may deserve to be picked ahead of Szmodics After a sparkling cameo.

But we have a squad which is good as, if not better than, most of the other teams in this league. We can expect to turn up and play well enough to win enough games to achieve automatic promotion.
