Sunderland v Posh

Post by tonyp » 20 Sep 2020, 06:47

According to Oddschecker the odds at the moment are
Sunderland win 6/5
Posh win 5/2
Draw 23/10
They are also saying to be League 1 winner -
Sunderland 5/1
Posh 8/1
I think Posh will surprise the bookies and the Sunderland fans (and even Gaz Miller) by achieving a low scoring draw.
This could be our toughest game of the season.

From the Sunderland Echo
https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/fo ... sh-2977506
Sunderland handed early injury concern ahead of Peterborough United clash.
Sunderland’s team captain limped out of the 2-0 win over Oxford United with an hour on the clock.
The Black Cats boss said it did not immediately look to be serious, but said he has players ready for an opportunity should be ruled out for next Saturday’s game.
The Black Cats will face a Peterborough side next Saturday bouyant after completing a remarkable comeback against Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town.
With or without their captain the Black Cats are in for a tough game. As are we.

The match referee is Scott Oldham.

Ask how much to Oldham and get your face slapped

The forum has been down for a while due to Chris Brewer updating the site, trying to eliminate any of the SPAM that we have been getting recently. He thanks us for our patience.
Looks as though it hasn't worked yet!!

Good start - JCH missed a sitter but Sunderland have tweaked formation and, as we know, Fergie is a bit rigid and slow and they have come into it

Not sure that was a penalty but it my was a poor challenge from Taylor who has looked a bit non-league all game. We’ve had a couple of bursts but Szmodics and JCH look like a couple of free transfers and not expensive signings...Szmodics now coming off....is Maddison still. Available because we are missing some creativity

Another loss and, apart from a couple of worldies last week in injury time, it doesn't look good.....

We lost. It didn't look good. Sunderland didn't look too good either.
I expected a tough game. A draw would have been a fair result.

Yep, 3 games in and we can all see it’s going wrong.
We should sack Fergie, re-sign Maddison and bring back Steve Evans, there’s no other way we’re going up this season.

What a load of rubbish has been posted today. Posh were the better team, apart from towards the end of the first half and at the start of the second half. All teams go through all matches when they have their little purple patches. We will play a lot worse and still beat teams in this division.
Just look at the stats from the game. They only beat us on shots off target, corners, fouls committed and yellow cards!

Possession % Home 49.6 Away 50.4

Total Shots Home 9 Away 11

On Target Home 2 Away 6

Off Target Home 5 Away 3

Corners Home 8 Away 7

Saves Home 5 Away 1

Fouls Committed Home 18 Away 10

Fouls Won Home 10 Away 18

Yellow Cards Home 3 Away 0
