First game of 20/21

Post by bristleposh » 27 Jul 2020, 16:03

Normal question is who do you fancy, I think I can almost guarantee that the t wats from EFL will select our first game to be away to Swindon. The one I am probably most looking forward to going to. There are not many pubs in England as good as The Glue Pot, it even featured in a Michael Portillo episode some years back, which was recently repeated on Yesterday on the 15th of this month.

I just hope that it is a team like that or similar. We don't want to be playing Portsmouth, Sunderland, Cobblers etc. all big crowd pullers during the first few months when the games could have to be played behind closed doors or with a small % of home fans. These games need to be put on the calendar at the back end of the season, when probably away fans will once again be allowed in.
I bet we get all the good ones at the beginning! (saying that it will probably be Rochdale away!)

I have no doubt that all the teams will not want Portsmouth Sunderland Plymouth Ipswich and Charlton early, but we can’t all be lucky.

From the fans perspective, i dont think it makes a difference, since i doubt we'll be able to attend games

The way the government have turned on Spain when a small part is effected. I can see them making an example of football as long as important stuff like a Tennis cricket and F1 can have crowds back and Manchester United

One government advisor had commented that crowds shouldn't return entirely until at least the New Year

......unless they're standing next to a total stranger and getting p1ssed in a pub then its fine to be in groups, but attend a football match no no no. These clowns have even banned programmes & merchandise sales but again feel free buy as much alcohol as you like.....beyond clueless
