I'm no fan of welcoming former players back from the golden age but I do think that, out of the players you listed, I'd have Oztumer in there any day. We're now struggling in midfield.
... and Oztumer is the answer to our lightweight, lack of a hardman midfield? Somebody else must have been drinking!

Oztumer is NOT the answer. Not good enough and is why he left. We need to improve the quality of the team.

Well said Brian.
We certainly do.

Is correct.

We also need to stop the nostalgia trips. There are far too many ex-players here in coaching roles too. I'm sure Boyd is being lined up for one as well.

I reckon the Maddison nonsense is just DMac looking for other clubs to join in. IMO it isn't going to happen!

Not quite correct. George is a very, very special player and even more important a first class man. As perfect a professional as we have ever employed. I WOULD WELCOME HIM WITH OPEN ARMS as he deserves special and unique consideration.

Brian - I know you are Boyd's biggest fan BUT he has been truly awful since his return. He hasn't had one good game this season.

Oh no! Ferguson has identified players to replace Marcus.

That's two more duffers we'll need to offload this summer then.

Rumours have reached this Red Dwarf technician that the Maddison deal is off after he and Charlton could not agree terms

Have seen on various other sites that an offer from Blackburn has been accepted, interest also from Middlesbrough and Birmingham

The Peterborough Telegraph
https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/spo ... -1-9200952
Darren Ferguson is not sure Charlton will be Maddison’s destination.

“I was told about the Charlton offer last week,” Ferguson said. “But there are numerous clubs after Marcus and I’m not sure Charlton will be where he ends up.

“I have always known this day would come and I can see the club’s point of view and the point of view of Marcus. Ideally I’d keep him because he’s a special player who, like a lot of the team, has lost form in recent weeks.

“If he stays then great, but if he leaves, and I think he will, then we will get on with things.
Fergie would keep him. How involved in the decision is Fergie?

From Lancs Live
https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/t ... d-17563447
Blackburn Rovers transfer news:
Blackburn Rovers were thought to be interested in a move but no official move was made.
Rovers were thought one of three teams to enter negotiations with the League One club and it's Charlton who have prevailed at this point, with Birmingham City also launching several bids that have fallen short of Peterborough's valuation.
Maddison's contract contains a £2.5 million release clause, yet with his contract set to expire this summer, Peterborough are prepared to cash in on their star man in this transfer window.

Blackburn or Middlesbrough.
It's understandable he would want a more northern club. Who would want to go to Charlton?
Anyway the way certain Posh fans have treated him with disdain, I bet he can't wait to get away from moaning Poshies.

That would make a lot more sense for him!
