Not sure if this will be of any interest to people coming from oop norf, they are after new cuddly toys in clear plastic bags.

Hopefully not a case of new manager syndrome for us, they will be without their skipper who was sent off against Ipswich, no chance of it being overturned as it was two yellows.

Bristol Rovers v Posh (Sat. Dec 21st.)

Post by tonyp » 17 Dec 2019, 21:09

They are 4th in the league on 34 points. We are 3rd on 35 points.
They have one game in hand.
This has draw written all over it.
But Bristol Rovers are looking for a new manager.
That might just swing it in our favour.
The bookies (in Australia) are offering -
2.30 on Posh
2.88 on Rovers and
3.50 on a draw
I think we'll win this game.

I never noticed Rovers until last week. Now they are fourth.

I've bought my little cuddly toy to throw on the pitch.

From the BBC
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50827403
Bristol Rovers: 'Wheels won't come off' after Graham Coughlan exit, says CEO
The "wheels will not come off" at League One high-flyers Bristol Rovers after manager Graham Coughlan's departure for Mansfield Town, insists Rovers chief executive Martyn Starnes.
Rovers - who have not played in the second tier since 1993 - are unbeaten in League One since October and just two points off an automatic promotion place.

Skybet are saying
Rovers 15/8
Posh 13/10
Draw 12/5

I think that equates to
1.88 on Posh
1.30 on Rovers and
2.40 on a draw

So Skybet think it it's not likely to be a draw and so do the Aussie bookies.
But Skybet think that Rovers are more likely to win whereas the Aussie bookies fancy Posh.

Good on you Bristle.
Emilia had a fond affinity with cuddly toys and we are encouraging supporters to join in a donation of items such as teddy bears or soft toys at our upcoming fixture at the Mem on the 21st December, inviting supporters to throw the items onto the pitch at 2:45pm.
All items donated on the day will be delivered to Bristol Children’s Hospital in the days before Christmas and we encourage supporters to bring new teddies and protect your donation in a small, ideally clear, bag.
We are also encouraging supporters to donate to Metabolic Support, a charity that supported the Harvie family through Emilia's illness. To donate to the charity please click https://www.metabolicsupportuk.org/donate/.
I can't send a cuddly toy so I'll make a donation.

You've got that wrong if your fractions were correct, you get your money back so the figures are the same as the Aussie ones except the draw is 3.4 instead of 3.5

I'll take your word for it.
I don't know how they work out odds.
I thought that 12/5 was the same as 2.40 to 1

Yep but that’s not so good we tend to get a nose bleed when we get to that altitude.
I’ll never understand how they kept eleven players on the pitch when one of their players took a pick axe to Ricky-Jade. I’d love to see the disallowed goal, I couldn’t work out why that was disallowed, the early one from Toney, the other one was probably disallowed for a blatant push on the keeper.
