Re: Coronavirus

Now a scientist who advises the government has said the ease of lockdown is far too early. He says it’s a political decision, not a scientific decision. This is not a dig at the government, but more a worry that we are getting it all wrong again. Why can’t we see it out until August/September when f...

Re: Coronavirus

South Korea have closed most schools, shops & theatres again after a small spike in cases.

As soon as you open things up, the pandemic is going to spread again.

As you say trevormans, it feels far too early for the UK. Deflective measures aren't the right way to come out of a pandemic.

Re: Coronavirus

Can anybody see an end to all this (especially people in the UK)?

WHO saying today that the UK are easing lockdown far too soon (given the amount of daily deaths).

Without a vaccine or pretentative drugs, I simply can't see how we can go back to any kind of normaility.

Re: Coronavirus

People were being stupid long before news of the Cummings story broke I agree with that, but only a very small minority. Now, it's a free for all. There can be no complaints whatsoever. We all have to act with 'integrity' which is open to all kinds of interpretation. A woman posted on Twitter today...

Re: Coronavirus

You were such a Richard on Dotnet everybody and their dog wanted you off. Wasn’t my statement clear. You really should take reading lessons. To be clear on both points you have made. 1. I have spoken to the majority of regulars on dot net, and NONE of them wanted me to leave. Many have spoken to me...

Re: The Politics of Coronavirus

I didn't think Bristle would be able to answer my question.

Makes anything else he says a complete irrelevance.

Re: Coronavirus

So you are saying, that if you don't follow the rules of a government lockdown, and subsequently get found out, that should be the end of it? Those are your words, not mine. Do you stick by what you've said or not? All I have said is it is the responsibility of the PM and Cummings himself, they hav...

Re: Coronavirus

I did follow the rules, unlike some people. The fact is, he [Cummings] didn't, [he] got found out and that should now be an end to it. So you are saying, that if you don't follow the rules of a government lockdown, and subsequently get found out, that should be the end of it? Those are your words, ...

Re: Coronavirus

So if you don't follow the rules, and get found out, that should be the end of it? Do you understand how damaging an approach to a world wide pandemic that would be? If the only 'punishment' to breaking lockdown rules is to be told you shouldn't do it, then you're advocating a total free-for-all whe...

Re: Coronavirus

as usual, you choose not to answer the question posited Okay. IF I had been PM, and the route chosen by the government was to follow scientific advice, I would have done - to the letter. Question for you: If you had also followed scientific advice, would you have ignored some of it or followed it a...

Re: Coronavirus

So if you had been PM you would have ignored the guidance of your scientific advisors. The PM's main man totally ignored scientific advice. The scientific advisors said last week that it's too soon to come out of lockdown - but our PM ignored it. Scotland, Wales & N Ireland haven't. The scientists ...
