Re: The Politics of Coronavirus

There are bound to be occasions where the present government will have been found wrong in their decisions. The trouble is that no government has ever had to deal with such a far reaching and world wide problem as this. Lessons will be learned from it for sure. If we have another 'spike' or if we a...

Re: The Politics of Coronavirus

The reason why of course is that we have to find a balance We cannot allow the economy to collapse and we need to ensure that those who are under threat through isolation are able to be " freer" However the government has destroyed so much of its credibility It has sought to say it has followed the...

Re: Coronavirus

All the vaccines in the world plus testing and tracing will never mean that persons are 100% safe from Covid-19. The virus will evolve just like 'flu but with more serious consequences. At some point the risk must be taken to ease lockdown restrictions. Is life worth living if one is to be confined ...

Re: Championship Football

Self interest is the prime motivating factor for every football club - irrespective of the league they play in. That will never change.

EFL now throwing a £2.5m annual salary cap into the ring for L1 teams in 20/21 season
Good idea. Too many clubs are paying wages at a level that they cannot really afford. Principle correct - only argument might be over the amount of the cap.

Re: Coronavirus

I thought the performances of the PM on TV last night and in the House of Commons today were lamentable. Keir Starmer tore the 50 page guidance document to pieces and not one of his questions was answered properly.

I do not believe his days are numbered He will bluster for another four plus years because there is no mechanism to get rid of his level of competence especially when he is surrounded by sycophants Sadly, you are correct. His performances on TV last night and in the House of Commons this afternoon ...

Re: Coronavirus

Social distancing may have helped but there is a limit to its practicality. Social distancing is the most important way of stopping the spread of this virus. It has definitely helped. You will have to get used to it. You might be allowed to go to a restaurant but social distancing will apply, in my...

Re: Coronavirus

Social isolation cannot continue in its present form for much longer. Social distancing may have helped but there is a limit to its practicality. Many persons are finding the restrictions ever more difficult while if they are not allowed to reopen for business, many will simply not survive. School c...

Re: A new 'normality'

I simply cannot see how social distancing can be imposed indefinitely. Hairdressers, opticians and dentists, for example, have to get much closer. That apart, many businesses such as small shops, tea rooms, cafes to name but a few could simply not function. Even larger shops, offices, garages, to na...

Re: The Politics of Coronavirus

A message from Jennifer Saunders Lets get this in perspective the crayon eaters who are set on pulling Boris down. Firstly THE GOVERMENT DOES NOT ORDER EQUIPMENT for the NHS, they supply the money. The lazy arse MANAGERS of the NHS are the procurement sources. It's not the government that deals wit...
